U.S. Air Force and Hunt Pinnacle Celebrate Family Housing Ribbon-Cutting at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada
Nellis AFB, Nev. - The U.S. Air Force and Hunt Pinnacle celebrated the completion of 24 new homes at The Landings at Nellis, the first to be constructed as part of the family housing privatization initiative at Nellis Air Force Base in Clark County, Nevada. Lt. Colonel Patrick Fogerty, 99th commander, civil engineer squadron, was the master of ceremony. Speakers included 99th Air Base Wing Commander Colonel Bartley, Hunt Development Group Executive Vice President Robin Vaughn, and Pinnacle Director of Military Housing Mike Rouen. Four-year old Juliana Ollis, daughter of Senior Airman Nathan Ollis and his wife Caitlin, cut the ribbon. The Ollises will be the first family to move into the new neighborhood.
Hunt Development Group and affiliates, of El Paso, Texas, are managing the design, development, construction, and asset management at Nellis Air Force Base. More than $263 million was raised by Hunt to demolish 915 outdated homes, construct 815 new homes, and renovate 363 homes. Pinnacle of Seattle is providing property management services. When the initial development plan is complete in four years, Pinnacle will manage a total of 1,178 homes.
Architect Giles-Buck & Associates, of Boise, Idaho, designed the homes with a blend of contemporary and traditional Mediterranean and Mission-style elements. Individual homes include such features as private entries, built-in bookcases, storage areas, technology centers and garages and average 1,700 square feet. New community amenities will include a community center with a large swimming pool, playing fields, tot lots and picnic shelters. Additional outdoor recreation amenities include new soccer fields; volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts; and pedestrian walkways.
In addition to the Nellis Air Force Base project, Hunt and Pinnacle are developing, building, renovating, and operating military family housing at Scott Air Force Base, Ill.; Dover Air Force Base, Del.; Barksdale Air Force Base, La.; Langley Air Force Base, Va.; Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C.; Columbus Air Force Base, Miss.; Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas; Randolph Air Force Base, Texas; Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas; Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.; Vance Air Force Base, Okla.; and Fort Lee, Va.
