Ford Island Properties, LLC, was awarded the 2012 Base Redevelopment Innovation award by the Association of Defense Communities. The Base Redevelopment Innovation Award recognizes a base redevelopment community that has launched a specific project/initiative that represents a significant innovation or a new approach for dealing with an issue common to other base redevelopment communities. The redevelopment of the island by Ford Island Properties was a joint venture between an affiliate of Hunt Companies and Fluor Federal Services.

Innovation Award
National Council for Public-Private Partnerships
Falcon Hill Aerospace Research Park was awarded the 2012 Innovation Award by the National Council for Public-Private Partnerships. The Innovation award recognizes projects that provide a unique innovation to the field of Public-Private Partnerships through development or application of new concepts or methodology. The partnership created to develop Falcon Hill comprises an “enhanced-use lease agreement (EUL),” which allowed Hunt, as construction manager, and the development team (collectively known as Sunset Ridge Development Partners, a partnership between Hunt and Woodbury Corporation) to design-build, finance, operate and maintain this new private sector commercial project. The agreement marks the largest EUL for the Department of Defense (DOD) to date and the first large-scale EUL for the Air Force.

Excellence in Park Design Award
El Paso Parks and Recreation Department
The El Paso Parks and Recreation Department announced its selection of Hunt Communities as the winner of the Excellence in Park Design Award for its design and construction of Redstone Village Pond Park, 5910 Redstone Rim, next to the Northeast Regional Park in El Paso. The one acre "park-pond," through its unique architecture, provides park space for the neighborhood residents, as well as providing required drainage and capture of storm water. The project was selected from among three parks by subdivision developers during fiscal year 2010.
