Woody Hunt

Woody Hunt

Woody L. Hunt is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hunt Companies, Inc., and its affiliated companies. He also serves as Chairman of the Hunt Family Foundation, a private family foundation he and his wife Gayle, established in 1987.

Woody graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, and he subsequently received his MBA in Finance from UT. Woody also earned an MA Degree in Management from the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California.

Woody joined the company in 1968 as Treasurer, and was named CEO in 1977.

In addition to his duties with Hunt, Mr. Hunt is Chairman of the Texas Governor’s Business Council; a member of the Board of Directors for Complete College America, founding chairman and current board member of the Medical Centers of Americas Foundation in El Paso; foundation trustee on the College for all Texans Foundation; member of the Board of Visitors of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center-Houston; founding member of the Paso del Norte Group in El Paso where he now serves on the Executive Committee; member of the Development Board at the University of Texas at El Paso; member of the Development Board for the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso; and member of the Board of Directors for Bank of the West.

He was previously the Vice-Chairman of The University of Texas System Board of Regents; served seven years, three as Chairman, on the Board of Directors of The University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO); was chairman of the Texas Select Commission on Higher Education and Global Competitiveness; was a member of the Commission for College Ready Texas and the Texas Tax Reform Commission; was a member of the National Board of the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE); was a member of the Texas Advisory Committee on Higher Education Cost Efficiencies; was a member of the Task Force on Texas Higher Education Incentive Funding; and was the chairman of the Paso del Norte Health Foundation. He was a member of the Board of Directors and chairman of the Finance Committee of PNM Resources in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and has served on numerous other civic, non-profit and professional boards.

Hunt's CEO has been inducted into the El Paso Business Hall of Fame, has received the El Paso Rotary Club's Distinguished Service Award, and the City of El Paso's Conquistador Award. Woody was also an El Paso County Historical Society Honoree. He was named Top Newsmaker by the El Paso Times and named El Pasoan of the Year by the El Paso Inc. He is also the recipient of the 2011 Lucy G. Acosta Humanitarian Award presented by LULAC Project Amistad. In 2008, Woody and Gayle Hunt were recognized for their continued support of the El Paso community and were named “Philanthropists of the Year” by the West Texas - Southern New Mexico Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Woody and his wife, Gayle, have four children (Jason, Joshua, Matthew, and Sarah) and eight grandchildren. Their oldest child, Marcus, passed away in 2008.


Mike Hunt

Mike Hunt

Mike Hunt is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Hunt Companies, Inc. In addition, Mike serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hunt Building Company, Ltd, a Hunt Companies affiliate.

Mike Hunt graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso with a BBA and attended Arizona State University for post-graduate studies in construction engineering.

Mike joined the company in 1971 as a field engineer. He has held the positions of office engineer, estimator, superintendent, project manager, and developer. Since 1984, he has had total responsibility for the construction and contract services operations of the company.

As CEO of Hunt Building Company, Ltd., Mike directs employees at Hunt’s construction projects throughout the continental United States, Alaska and Hawaii.

He is a member of numerous civic organizations and involved in many charitable initiatives.

Chris Hunt

Chris Hunt serves as Chief Investment Officer of Hunt Companies, Inc. In addition, he serves as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Hunt Development Group LP, a Hunt Companies affiliate. Hunt Development focuses on public-private ventures, value-added asset management, development, and financial services. Mr. Hunt is also a member of the Board of Directors for Hunt subsidiary, TRECAP Partners.

Chris Hunt graduated from The University of Texas Austin with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, and also received his MBA in Finance at UT.

William Kell

William Kell serves as Chief Financial Officer of Hunt Companies, Inc. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the company since 2004, and currently serves as the Board's Treasurer. In addition, William serves as Chairman of the company's Finance Committee. Mr. Kell is also a member of the Board of Directors for Hunt subsidiary, TRECAP Partners.

William graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA and is a Certified Public Accountant.

He joined Hunt in 2003 as an Executive Vice President in the Asset Management Division. Prior to coming to Hunt, William had over 23 years of business, real estate, and financial experience, including over eleven years with a publicly held REIT and over six years with a national "Big 4" accounting firm.



Steve Colon

Steve Colon

Mr. Colón has 20 years of experience in mixed use, commercial, and residential real estate development, asset management, investment, and sales. He has responsibility for Hunt’s Hawaii development activities, consisting of seven projects on three islands encompassing over 2200 acres, 1460 homes, and over 1,000,000 square feet of commercial and industrial space.

Mr. Colón joined Hunt in 2003 following a two year reserve recall with the U.S. Navy due to 9-11. Prior to that, he spent 5 years in the International division of Pulte Homes as a Vice President of Operations, including 3 years in Santiago, Chile. From 1994 – 1996 he worked for Hines Interests, L.P. in Houston and Mexico City, Mexico. Prior to working for Hines, he was a Senior Disposition Manager with the Trammell Crow Company in Houston, TX. Mr. Colón also worked for the real estate investment management firm Aldrich, Eastman, & Waltch as an asset manager, and for the Grubb & Ellis Company as a commercial office and leasing broker.

Mr. Colón holds an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (1990), and a B.S. from the U.S. Naval Academy (1981).


Sinclair Cooper

Sinclair Cooper

As the Co-President of the Public Private Partnership of Hunt Development Group, Sinclair Cooper is responsible for targeting the development of institutional public-private opportunities where ever they exist in the United States in addition to managing the military housing privatization initiative business. Mr. Cooper also heads up the Urban Ventures Division.

During his 20 year real estate development background; Mr. Cooper has been involved in the analysis, planning, financing, development and construction of over 40 separate transactions, representing over 9,400 units of housing and 2,000,000 square feet of commercial/retail projects. These projects are collectively valued at over $2 Billion.

Sinclair earned his B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland and received his Pennsylvania sales license from Temple University.


Ron Glover

Ron Glover

Mr. Glover joined Hunt in 1971, as an Assistant Controller and advanced through the organization to his present position of President of Hunt NR (Natural Resources). During that time he established Hunt’s Property Management Division and played a key role in the development, acquisition, and financing of all of Hunt’s real estate holdings up to the year 2000.

In 2000, with the Company’s purchase of farmland in the Dell Valley area, Mr. Glover got involved in the water business where he spearheaded a technical review and evaluation of the West Texas, New Mexico, and Dell Valley water resources and co-authored a booklet on water titled, “Water Resource Development: The Challenge to a Region”.

As the President of Hunt NR (Natural Resources), Mr. Glover continues to seek out new investment opportunities in oil, gas and water, while maximizing the value of the Companies’ current holdings in West Texas and Southern New Mexico. The exportation of water from Dell Valley remains a high priority.


Joshua Hunt

Joshua Hunt

Joshua Hunt is Senior Vice President for Hunt Companies, Inc. In addition, Mr. Hunt is Managing Director of Hunt Holdings; President of the Hunt Family Foundation; and serves on several Hunt corporate and affiliate committees and boards.

In addition to his duties at Hunt, Josh serves as a YWCA Foundation trustee; he is on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of the Desert Southwest, the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the El Paso Regional Economic Development Corporation (REDCO), Project ARRIBA, and the Sun Bowl Association. Josh is a member of the Paso del Norte Group, USO El Paso Advisory Council, University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) 2014 Commission, and UTEP President’s Athletic Advisory Council.

Josh graduated from The Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate/Finance and also earned an MS Degree, with honors, in Real Estate and Construction Management from the Daniels School of Business at the University of Denver.



Ryan Luxon

Ryan Luxon

Ryan Luxon is an Executive Vice President at Hunt Companie, Inc.

Mr. Luxon’s professional experience includes senior commercial real estate finance origination and management positions at The Henry S. Miller Companies Investment Banking Group in Dallas, Texas and Muni Mae LLC [NYSE:MMA] and its subsidiary The Midland Companies based in Clearwater, Florida.

In 2006, Mr. Luxon co-founded two diversified real estate investment firms, RLMK W.O.L.F. Real Estate Solutions, LLC ("WRES") and RLMK W.O.L.F. Financial Services, LLC ("WFS"). WRES specializes in commercial real estate consulting with a focus on operations, asset management, and transactional representation. WFS provides analytical, empirical, and sourcing assistance to commercial real estate owners assessing capital transactions.

Mr. Luxon graduated with a BA in English from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee and was also awarded a Juris Doctorate degree from Texas Tech University. He is a licensed attorney in both Texas and Florida. Mr. Luxon is a member of multiple national and regional affordable housing coalitions and councils.


Tom Philley

Tom Philley

Tom Philley began with his career with Hunt as a Field Engineer in January of 1980 upon graduation from Texas A&M University. Tom has spent his entire construction management career with Hunt serving as a Field Engineer, CQC Director, Superintendent, Project Manager, Vice President and is currently an Executive Vice President of Construction.

He has been involved with over 10,000 units of family housing projects with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, The Indian Housing Service, various Indian Tribes and the private development of two shopping centers. In addition to the structures he has worked on Tom has experience in sewage treatment, water wells, water treatment facilities as well as electrical distribution.

Tom has served on several community projects and boards and is currently on the UTEP Advisory Board.


Bill Sanders

Bill Sanders

Bill Sanders serves as Chief Administrative Officer, Executive Vice President and Secretary of Hunt Companies, Inc.

Bill graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a B.A. in Business and obtained his M.B.A. in Accounting from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Sanders brought eleven years of accounting and financial experience with him when he joined Hunt in 1980 as Executive Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer. His responsibilities have included the training and supervision of accounting and data processing personnel, analysis of operating information, preparation of tax information, financial planning and supervision of management of apartment projects.


Gary Sapp

Gary Sapp

Gary Sapp serves as an Executive Vice President of Hunt Companies, Inc. In addition, he serves as the President of the Southwest division for Hunt Development Group where he has Overall responsibility for all the Southwest Real Estate Development Projects including identification market feasibility, site acquisitions, design management, entitlement, development, construction, finance and asset management. Gary also serves as the Chairman of Hunt Communities and is responsible for the management and operations for community scale multi-purpose land developments in El Paso and other southwestern regional markets.

Prior to joining Hunt, Gary worked in the real estate industry in property management, as an investment advisor and Vice-President of La Salle Partners, Inc. and developed multi-family properties as President of Aztlan Investment Corp.

Robin Vaughn

Robin Vaughn

During his tenure at Hunt, Mr. Vaughn has been involved in the analysis and financing of Hunt’s real estate developments. Mr. Vaughn currently leads Hunt’s acquisition of military housing privatization projects. He is also in charge of Hunt’s successful endeavors in the Enhanced Use Leasing program.

In addition to his extensive military development experience, Mr. Vaughn has participated in Hunt’s private market real estate development and acquisition activities, which includes market rate residential properties and mixed-use retail developments.

Mr. Vaughn has a BA in Accounting from New Mexico State University and is a registered Certified Public Accountant.


Bud Waters

Bud Waters

Shortly after graduation, Bud began his professional career with Hunt as an Estimator, continuing his experience through the ranks to Project Manager in 1981. He was named Executive Vice President of Construction in 1999. As a Project Manager, he has placed more than $1.14 billion in construction (approximately 10,450 units).

Since 1991, Bud has had total responsibility for the development and construction of Hunt’s military
family housing projects in Hawaii, encompassing more than 4,380 multifamily units with contract value exceeding $790 million.

Bud Waters earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from New Mexico State University.


David Wray

David Wray

David Wray joined Hunt Building Companies in 1979 after receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree at New Mexico State University.

In his 31 years with Hunt, Mr. Wray has served in multiple positions within the company and worked on the construction and renovation of over 10,000 homes within the US and abroad. He is currently an Executive Vice President in charge of the management and oversight of development, design and construction of multiple phases of Military Privatization Housing in Southern California.

Brenda Christman joined Hunt in 2011 and serves as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Communication where she leads the communications, branding and public relations efforts for the Hunt portfolio of companies.

Mrs. Christman has over 20 years of experience in competitive business sectors such as real estate, retail development, and hospitality. Previously, Mrs. Christman was Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing for Lend Lease Corporation.

Brenda Christman has a Master of Arts in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Political Science from Valparaiso University, and has completed the Leadership Development Program at Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
