As President of the Southwest Development Division of Hunt, Mr. Chapman is responsible for the master planning, entitlement, development and subdivision and infrastructure construction on Hunt property. Mr. Chapman supervises a staff of real estate professionals, engineering consultants, land planners, landscape architects, and other development consultants on the acquisition, planning, entitlement, and construction of all of Hunt’s residential communities in El Paso and Las Cruces.
Mr. Chapman has developed thousands of lots and platted dozens of different subdivisions. Mr. Chapman is managing current real estate development projects with project construction costs totaling $100,000,000 and is spearheading the planning, development and construction of two master planned communities in El Paso, Texas. These communities total +/-7000 acres and +/-20,000 single family lots.
Mr. Chapman started his real estate career as a corporate associate for a national law firm and represented domestic companies in connection with the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of commercial real estate. As a lawyer, Mr. Chapman also represented domestic and foreign companies in connection with public and private corporate finance transactions. His real estate law experience includes representing buyers and sellers of real estate (contract drafting, negotiation, project due diligence, title and survey review, preparation of closing documents and closing transactions). Before joining Hunt, Mr. Chapman was a development project manager for a national homebuilder and became the Development Vice President of a private Houston developer.
