Hunt Military Communities Celebrates Military Spouses Appreciation Day

Hunt Companies houses nearly 120,000 Military Service Members and their families across the United States from De Luz Family Housing in California to Hansom Family Housing in Massachusetts.  The vast majority of those households have a strong dependable spouse caring for the household while the Service Member is training, deployed or fulfilling their obligation as a Military Service Member.

Many people say the hardest job of all is being the spouse of a Service Member.    Therefore, in honor of the recent Military Spouses Appreciate Day De Luz Family Housing at Camp Pendleton in California hosted an online Facebook contest for its residents.

The contest was simple: Tell the De Luz Family Housing staff “What is means to be a Military Spouse”. The first place award winner, Erin Garcia received a gift basket with over $500 worth of prizes and gift cards.  The second place award winner, April Romero received a gift basket and manicure gift certificate. All of the items were donated free of charge by local businesses and Blue Star Families to support the contest.

De Luz Family housing teamed up with the Joint Housing Office and Blue Star Families to coordinate the entries, review the content, and select the winners.  What the Hunt Companies, Blue Star Families, and the Joint Housing Office didn’t realize is the emotional heartwarming, honest responses they would receive from their residents.
