Since 1987, the Woody and Gayle Hunt Family Foundation has supported initiatives that strengthen the Borderplex region—El Paso County, South Central New Mexico, and Ciudad Juárez—and broader efforts across Texas and the U.S., with a focus on education and healthcare.
Funded by shareholders of Hunt Companies Inc., the Foundation reflects the Hunt family’s legacy of integrity and long-term impact, having committed over $169 million to more than 3,100 initiatives and 640 organizations.

Economic Development
MountainStar Sports Group, LLC (MSSG) was founded in 2012 with a dedication to invest in initiatives that promote economic development and enhance the quality of life in the Borderplex region of El Paso, TX, Ciudad Juárez, MX, and southern NM.
MSSG owns the El Paso Chihuahuas, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. Season play began in 2014 at Southwest University Ballpark in downtown El Paso. In 2018, MSSG acquired a USL Championship League soccer franchise and founded the El Paso Locomotive.
