CGL Hires New Director of Design for Latin America Office

COLUMBIA, SC (June 14, 2012) – CGL announces the recent strategic hiring of Enrique (Rick) Maciá as the new Director of Design for its Latin America office.

“Rick’s proven ability in the design of criminal justice facilities will broaden CGL’s ability to provide outstanding service to its clients nationally and internationally, specifically in Latin America,” said Steve Carter, original co-founder of CGL.

A talented and highly sought after architect, Mr. Maciá has nearly 25 years of experience in justice facility design, boasting an impressive résumé of extensively published and award-winning justice projects.

Having known and worked with the talented principals and staff over many years, this is a wonderful opportunity to continue that relationship and be a part of some of the most exciting opportunities in the criminal justice planning and design fields,” said Maciá.

Maciá has been involved in every facet of justice design, developing a strong background in the master planning, conceptual and detailed design, and construction administration of many courthouse, detention, corrections, and public safety projects. Notable project examples include: the Michigan Supreme Court in Lansing, MI; the Complejo Penitenciario I in Ezeiza, Argentina; the Calgary Courts Centre in Alberta, Canada and the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex in Sumter County, FL.

Immediately prior to joining CGL, Maciá was a principal with AECOM and served as the senior justice and courts designer within the Justice Studio. He obtained a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami and a Master of Architecture from Princeton University. Maciá currently resides in Coral Gables, FL with his wife, Lourdes, and two daughters, Mariana and Victoria.
