John Welborn Named Executive Vice President of Development

COLUMBIA, SC (June 25, 2012) – CGL is proud to announce the promotion of John Welborn to Executive Vice President of Development.

Mr. Welborn has over 35 years of construction and real estate development experience and has managed the development of more than $500 million in commercial development. For the past nine years, Mr. Welborn was responsible for overseeing all Program Management efforts for CGL.

Mr. Welborn possesses comprehensive knowledge and expertise in all phases of real estate development, with particular strengths in land assembly, pre-development planning, project budgeting, conceptual design, construction management, property management, and marketing.

Prior to joining CGL, Mr. Welborn co-founded two justice companies: DFS of Puerto Rico, a justice facility development company; and Just Care, Inc., a full-service medical prison development and operations company. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction from Auburn University and currently resides in Milton, Georgia with his wife, Renee, and two sons, Jack and Thomas.
